Christmas is come,

as it is done before.

New Years on its way,

an´that´s for shore.

Life´s blessed me,

with its bounties galore.

Most fellers are worryin´about Y2K,

and prices at the store.

The politicians stopped heedin´my advice,

so I don´t follow them anymore.

The paper´s late-happenings

I don´t even pick up at the door.

I´m into teaching great -grandkids to fish,

and girlfriends that don´t snore.

The Lord gave me a quick mind,

and muscle enough for its chore.

Guess I´ll call this another

"Good Year" an´

wouldn´t ask for much more.
